Are you a visual designer with 3+ years experience who can translate user needs, technical requirements, and strategy into beautifully usable designs?

Montaag is a design consultancy that works on strategy and technology projects for a variety of clients. Companies work with Montaag when they hit a creative roadblock. Maybe they need a new product, UX strategy, or way for their organization to collaborate. Montaag envisions and executes what might come next. Our Berkeley studio is an open, friendly place and our team’s intimate size ensures everyone has a chance to weigh in.

We are looking to bring on a Visual Designer to fill a critical puzzle piece on our team and own the development of UI and brand identities for a variety of client projects.

The types of projects we’d love to tackle with you:

● Mobility user interfaces

● Full brand and identity projects

● Websites and mobile apps

● Packaging design

A bit about you:

1. You are fluent in the fundamentals of visual design .

You can take the abstract and make it into something beautiful and functional through a litany of tools, from sketches to screens.

2. You understand that people experience designs, not just admire them.

You think about the human or service interactions associated with your visual designs, and are comfortable describing how people might relate to the designs on and off-screen.

3 . You are open to others.

Our team is small and integrated. Hopefully you enjoy open collaboration and feedback from creative teammates spanning all different backgrounds. And your opinion will be expected in return! There’s ample opportunity to plug into other projects around product development, design research, and UX.

The ideal candidate will have:

● 3+ years experience creating pixel-perfect UI systems, from overall creative direction down to icon systems, style guides, and specifications

● Experience with brand and identity development, from logos to visual guidelines

● A collaborative mindset and openness to feedback when working with UX designers, researchers, and strategists

● Understanding and application of information architecture principles

● A track record of working in a complex, multi-platform, multi-device ecosystem

● Ability to present work in a coherent and compelling format

Bonus points if you have:

● Experience with motion graphics, animation, and storyboard sketching

● Interest/experience in product design and design research
